THE CHURCH OF GOD INTERNATIONAL TORONTO CONGREGATION PRESENTS:

IS GOD STILL RELEVANT?

Some questions don't go away no matter how hard you push them. Questions about suffering, morality, faith, and what we're actually here for. This May, we're sitting with those questions honestly — no rehearsed answers, no pressure. Just an open, thoughtful conversation about the things that matter most.

Four Saturdays: May 2, May 9, May 16, May 23
All sessions begin at 1:30PM

Four big questions. One invitation.

DISCOVERING GOD ANEW

We live in a time when belief is complicated. Science has expanded our understanding of the universe. Culture has redefined morality. Tragedy has tested our trust. And for many people, God — if He exists at all — feels distant, irrelevant, or simply unable to explain the world we actually live in.

This series is for the skeptic and the seeker. For the longtime believer who still carries unanswered questions. For anyone who has looked at the state of the world and wondered: does any of this actually matter?

We think it does. And we'd love to explore why — together.

Week 1 — Saturday, May 2 @ 1:30PM

PRESENTER: KENROY ALLEN

What is the true gospel?

The word "gospel" means good news. But there are many versions of that story being told today — and not all of them agree. In this opening session, we go back to the source to ask: what did Jesus actually promise? The answer may be bigger — and more surprising — than you expect.

Week 2 — Saturday, May 9 @ 1:30PM

Do we need to follow the Old Testament?

Millions of people treat the Old Testament as ancient history — interesting perhaps, but no longer binding. But what if dismissing it means missing half the story? We explore what the Old Testament actually is, where it came from, and why it still speaks directly to where humanity is headed.

Week 3 — Saturday, May 16 @1:30PM

PRESENTER: COURTNEY EDWARDS

Why do I need God and the Church?

It's a fair question. If you live ethically, treat people well, and don't need religion to tell you right from wrong — why bother? In this session, we examine what science and self-sufficiency can and cannot answer, and why the God of the Bible offers something no moral framework alone ever can.

Week 4 — Saturday, May 23
@1:30PM

PRESENTER: COURTNEY SCARLETT

Why do bad things happen to good people?

This is the question most people are afraid to ask out loud in church. If God is loving and all-powerful, why does suffering touch every life — including the lives of people who've done nothing to deserve it? We won't offer easy answers. But we will offer honest ones — grounded in Scripture and the life of Jesus, who didn't explain suffering from a distance but entered into it.
